Beers celebrates Centenary with gala dinner

Builders and Timber merchant Beers held a gala dinner to celebrate its 100th birthday on Thursday 29th September.  

The dinner, 230 people, including Beers’ staff, suppliers & customers,  was held at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.

After a champagne reception in the Lady Chapel, guests were

led through the main Cathedral by a candlelight procession.

Managing director Michael Beer led the welcome speech before Grace was said by Canon Richard White.

After dinner a thank you address and toast was proposed by Paul Conboy before 

the main Speaker of the evening, adventurer, broadcaster & traveller Mr Ben Fogle, gave an inspiring, funny & informative speech.

The evening entertainment continued with a 6 piece electric orchestra String Infusion.

Attendees raised over £4,000 on the evening through a charity auction & raffle for prizes including full hospitality for 2 at the Grand National next April for Beer’s chosen charity Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.
