Bathstore sale to go down the pan?

The sale of Wolseley UK’s Bathstore subsidiary is thought to be in jeopardy, following the announcement of the builders and plumbers merchant’s half-year results.

Sky News’s Mark Kleinmann believes that Electra Partners, the private equity firm thought to have been the front runner is close of walking away from the deal.

The price for the retail chain is thought to be between £80m and £90m, however, with Bathstore’s performance reportedly 9% down ona year ago, Electra Partners may well wish to lower the price.
