Aquisition doubles workforce for Irish firm

The multimillion-pound addition to the Acheson & Glover portfolio makes them one of the biggest construction materials manufacturers in Ireland. And, in a move that the company describe as “significant”, it also gives them a manufacturing facility in England and a commercial base in Scotland.

The deal, say the company, “is designed to boost output of a range of structural precast concrete flooring and related products which currently account for around 20% of Acheson & Glover’s turnover.”

They predict that the newly acquired sites will give the company a four-fold increase in precast production capacity and the penetration into England and Scotland that the locations provide will make it easier access those markets.

The acquisition has also doubled the group’s workforce to approximately 800 employees and the company’s annual turnover to close to £100 million, generated from a total of 13 production sites.
