A strengthened team for WJ Group

John Cook joins their Hull site at an exciting time for the company.

A third generation engineer, Cook has taken on many senior operations management roles including recently managing products teams in manufacturing environments, six years as head of operations at Smith and Nephew in Gilberdyke and head of operations at Bankside Patterson.

Cook will be working to optimize many parts of WJ Groups manufacturing process and operations across their sites in Hull and Rochester.

Cook said: “I’m really excited about this opportunity with WJ Group, joining a team that really wants the best for the company. There’s a very positive culture at the heart of WJ and my experience suggests that this is a fantastic place to build from, allowing for effective and sustainable developments that would benefit the company and all of its customers. I’ve already been able to make a start on tailoring some of the systems and metrics within the company and we’ve succeeded in achieving some quick wins. More is certainly to come as we continue on our path towards world class manufacturing.”

WJ Group managing director, Mark Eggleston commented: “As the company goes from strength to strength in terms of production, so too much the people and skills behind it. John is a welcome addition to the team and we expect to learn a great deal from his experience and knowledge.”
