Liam Gibson, formerly of Monarch Airlines, joins as Head of Marketing, while Bhavin Lad has been appointed as Head of E-Commerce, having previously worked for Dunelm.

The two new appointments will have the dual role of improving the online purchasing process for plumbers and enhancing support for the merchant’s network of branches across the UK.

Speaking about his new appointment, Gibson said: “I’ve been really impressed with the huge amount of expertise held by our branch staff up and down the country. From head office through to trade counters, there’s a real commitment to providing the best possible service for hardworking plumbers and heating engineers.

“With more of our branches now offering showrooms, there’s a huge opportunity to promote the value-added benefits of unmatched trade knowledge, comprehensive product ranges, and free design services to plumbers and homeowners alike.”

Lad said: “We know that the trade really appreciates our speed of service and product availability in branch. Using the experience I’ve gained in online retail, I’m looking to ensure that the online purchasing process is as quick and seamless as it can be, as well as making it much easier to locate and visit branches.”

Commenting on the new appointments Plumbase Managing Director, Mark Bradley, said: “Both Liam and Bhavin’s appointments demonstrate our overall strategic aim of ensuring we provide the best possible service to the plumbing and heating trade. With the extensive sector knowledge of both our branch and head office staff, we’re now looking to implement improvements that will mean whether visiting us in-branch or online, we can deliver the service and products needed by the trade as quickly and effectively as possible.”
