Sussex builders merchant basks in Archer’s Cricket World Cup glory

Gardner and Scardifield, the West Sussex-based builders merchants, electrical wholesalers and DIY suppliers, are congratulating themselves on being able to spot a rising cricket star when they see one. Jofra Archer, one of the outstanding England players who won the Cricket World Cup on Sunday evening, once played for the club that the merchant sponsors.

Gardner and Scardifield have sponsored Horsham Cricket Club for the past four years and were involved in Archer’s initial season at there. The company says that it watched him grow as a player at the club and could not be more delighted with his progress and achievements. Having been an avid fan of Mr Archer since his time at the club the firm are immensely proud with his progress. The company, now almost 100 years old, says it has been “blown away by his contribution to the England team over the past two years” and that the World Cup win was simply the cherry on top of the cake.
