Supplier Collaboration is delivering the goods for H&B group

At the event, managing director Nick Lander announced that “h&b’s strategy of selective growth and individual membership performance has resulted in strong year on year growth as a group. Back in April we launched Project 19 initiative, which is about collaborating with our Suppliers, working on value chain innovation and driving out waste. It is clear it is already bearing fruit”.

Following this, Steve Morgan chairman of Redrow homes gave a speech and reported a strong performance and urged the government to think again with their stamp duty policy.

H&B is a national group of 80 members and 140 branches with a cumulative turnover of over £400m.  Knauf Insulation Managing Director John Sinfield, who picked up the chairman’s trophy for supplier excellence said: ‘we have always found H&B to be a strong route to market. We have a great two-way relationship which allows us to give customer focus and receive great feedback from the value chain’.

Summing up, Nick reported: ‘h&b’s balance of formalising buying processes whilst maintaining the knowledge and character of our membership puts us in a unique position in the industry. The strong support for the event today only goes to emphasise the importance we play in the value chain’.
