Stax bolsters buying team with two new additions

Wholesaler and trade supplier, Stax Trade Centres, has added two new members to its purchasing team, further strengthening the department.

The first appointment is Ian Evans, who joins from Makro, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a strong background in wholesale buying. Evans’ knowledge will be put to good use as he takes ownership of the hand tools, power tools, door furniture, hardware, ironmongery and workwear departments.

Secondly, Matthew Ball also joins the department – after graduating from Newcastle University and working within a variety of roles at Stax, Ball will now carry his valuable experience into the buying team. He will also be paying particular attention to council contracts, and tenders, to support the successful expansion growing within that sector.

Stax Purchasing Director, Simon Wright commented: “We’re delighted with the new additions to the team, who together bring a huge amount of industry experience and dynamism to the team. We’re always looking for ways to improve and when the opportunity to bring Ian on board came about it was an easy decision – his experience will be a great asset to us. Matthew has also proved his acumen in other areas of the business, so it’s great to see him coming through into the team.”

He said: “Sourcing the right products at the right price is the foundation that we’ve built Stax upon, so ultimately this is great news for our customers”.
