Selco And Knights Join Forces

KnightsYork City Knights are hoping to put the foundations in place for a brighter future after receiving the backing of leading builders merchant Selco Builders Warehouse.

Selco’s York branch, based on Osbaldwick Link Road, is backing the League 1 high-flyers during what is turning out to be a thrilling campaign.

The partnership was showcased during the recent 40-8 victory over Workington, during which Selco branch staff attending the match joined in the fun by launching Selco t-shirts into the crowd.

Chris Lowry, Selco York’s branch manager, said: “We are delighted to have linked up with York City Knights during our first year operating in the city.

“There is a lot of interest in the club in York and plenty of our customers attend matches.

“One of the big commitments we have at Selco is to support the communities in which we operate and there is no better way of us doing that in York than through the Knights.”

Knights owner Jon Flatman said: “The Selco partnership is a really pleasing one for us.

“It is a forward-thinking company with coverage right across the UK which has grown hugely over the last five years and continues to do so.

“To have a link with such an established company is a major boost for everyone at the Knights.”

With hundreds of trade brands always in stock and open seven days a week, Selco’s new branch is firmly focused on helping local tradespeople complete their jobs as quickly and effectively as possible.

As well as offering trade services, Selco Hire and a café in branch, Selco also has a strong digital presence including a 30 minute Click & Collect service and a free Project List app which allows tradespeople to plan, manage, and quote for all jobs – as well as complete purchases – through their smartphone.
