Saving gas in Scunthorpe

GasSaver 6.2002000A brand-new housing development in Scunthorpe called Yaddlethorpe Grange has Alpha Heating Innovation’s InTec GS boilers installed in all 68 properties. The manufacturer’s solution was specified for this project by Britcon due to its energy efficiency as well as the excellent level of customer service offered.

Yaddlethorpe Grange is a new and exciting development by HG Homes. Andy Toyne, Contract Manager at Britcon, spoke about the new project: “HG Homes acquired the brownfield site that used to be an old glass factory and had ambitions of creating local quality housing and jobs to this area. The old factory has been demolished and planning permission for 68 homes has been granted – which is a really exciting prospect.

“The Alpha InTec GS provided us with an energy efficient and cost-effective system that could easily fit into each house. The efficiency of these boilers also contributed to achieving our SAPS certification without further added improvements.”

Incorporating the latest flue gas heat recovery technology, the InTec GS is perfect for the environmentally conscious homeowner. As well as the potential to reduce gas consumption by up to 35% when providing hot water, it has a low electrical consumption.

In terms of its components the InTec GS scores highly with a stainless-steel heat exchanger and high efficiency Grundfos pump and hydroblock assembly. It uses the same connections as a standard combi so is easy to fit and comes with a five-year warranty as standard meaning peace of mind for all parties.

Another reason the product was chosen for these new-build properties is that it complies with the new Boiler Plus legislation that came into effect in April 2018.

Andy Hales, General Manager of Hales and Coultas Heating and Plumbing and Project Manager for Yaddlethorpe Grange, said: “Our company is new to the Alpha brand and we have been very impressed by these products. They matched the specification perfectly and one of the main reasons that they were chosen is because of their excellent energy efficiency rate, and how they automatically comply to the new regulations. This was also very convenient and provided peace of mind for the end client.”

Furthermore, Rachael Monks, Plumbing Manager at Buildbase in Scunthorpe, and one of the main suppliers for this project, was impressed by the level of customer service she received. She commented: “Jonathan Hanby at Alpha always delivers an exceptional level of service to the customer. His expertise was one of the main reasons I feel Alpha was chosen for this project – the client felt completely at ease and his knowledge on the products was second to none.”
