Lauren Brennan and James Evans will work towards a Level 2 qualification from the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW), with a view to developing further accreditations as they progress in their careers.

In addition to building their day to day shop-floor experience, they will be supported to achieve career targets, be involved in company meetings, and have the opportunity to meet other like-minded apprentices within the business as part of their new roles.

Upon completing the apprenticeship, they will be guaranteed a job at Roger W Jones’ Cefnyd Road branch to kick start their careers.

The work-based qualification scheme is open to anyone over the age of 16, living in Wales and not in full-time education. Apprentice projects are based around customers, promotions, colleagues and commerce.

A range of applications for places were received by Roger W Jones, from ex-school leavers, candidates already in the trades and other professions.

Roger W Jones branch manager Jonty Davies said: “Roger W Jones is continuously committed to developing talented apprentices with real on-the-job work experience. The skills gained, work-based qualification and full-time job opportunity on offer makes this scheme invaluable. We welcome Lauren and James on-board and look forward to seeing them progress with Roger W Jones.”
