Up against Halwill Parish Hall, and Torquay & District Cats Protection, Lapford Victory Hall came out on top and now has £1,000 to spend at RGB’s Crediton branch.

The hall is a major part of the local community and is used for a wide range of diverse activities, such as badminton, dog training, belly dance lessons, scouts, indoor bowls and Pilates, as well as hosting the village’s annual pantomime.

The Community Fund donation will be used to purchase materials to complete refurbishment of the toilet area and ensure appropriate access is provided for disabled facilities.

Andrew Epstein from Lapford Victory Hall’s Management Committee said:

“The hall was built in 1919 to commemorate the end of the First World War so it’s been a central part of our community for nearly 100 years.  It’s widely used so it’s extremely important we continue to maintain and improve the facilities. A huge thank you to everyone that voted for us and to RGB Building Supplies for the generous donation of the materials.”

Adrian Borchardt, Branch Manager at RGB Crediton, said:

“Our Community Fund is all about helping local groups and charities to complete projects that they would not otherwise be able to do. I was delighted to meet Andrew and representatives from Lapford Victory Hall and see how the donation of materials will be used; I wish them every success with the project.”
