Temporary Protection Sheeting gets Greener

Visqueen Building Products has launched a new product that enables users to protect worksites whilst doing more to protect the environment. ECO TPS is a range of temporary protective sheeting for use on floors, verticals, fixtures and fittings that's made entirely from recycled waste polythene - predominantly from the UK's agricultural and horticultural industries.


This use of scrap, such as crop covers and poly tunnels, which is thoroughly cleansed in a wash plant prior to being reprocessed, allows ECO TPS to play an important part in diverting waste from landfill. Perhaps even more impressively, it also gives the new product a carbon footprint 35% lower than protective sheeting made from virgin materials. Compared to using prime polymers, studies have shown that ECO TPS actually requires a third less energy during its production process resulting in a 1.4 tonne saving in associated CO2 emissions.

ECO TPS extends this portfolio of green solutions and provides yet another way for our customers to boost their environmental credentials".

ECO TPS is suitable for most typical internal and external temporary protection applications and is available in general purpose, medium duty, heavy-duty and extra heavy-duty grades. All grades are supplied in 4 metre wide, 25 metre long rolls with the exception of the medium duty product which benefits from a 50 metre length.
