Cut-to-fit metal banding system offers ducting flexibility
The low-cost and versatile cut-to-fit metal banding system, trademarked Stranglehold Banding has been in continuous demand especially by the heating and ventilation and sign fixing industry. SEAC, owner of the trademark, manufactures and supplies the metal banding and locks from the Midlands.

The system consists of a worm drive steel strip, which can be cut to the length required, and screw housings, tightening devices which slide onto the steel band. They are then tightened onto equipment with a screw, inserted into the housing. This can be used to fix together pipes and ducts of almost any diameter.
Available in 11mm zinc-plated mild steel and 7 or 11mm corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the 11mm wide banding comes in packs of 10 or 30m and the 7mm banding comes in packs of 25 or 50m.
The tightening mechanism are either Slotted or Allen Screw lock, Flip-Lock or Captive screw lock, for applications where the band has to be regularly unfastened. A quick release toggle fastener is also available.
Tightening is made easier by the smooth underside of the band which reduces the friction between the band and the pipes. With this system, there is no need to stock quantities of different diameter hose clips.
