With 91.3% efficiency ratings, the Potterton Promax 15kW HE Plus and Promax 15kW SL are the highest SEDBUK efficiency rated heat only boilers available in the UK marketplace.
And, say the company, these results are certified by an independent Notified Body, accredited for the testing of boilers to European standards.
“The efficiency of these superior products is capable of contributing two or three of the essential points needed to secure a level three rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes,” says specification director Steve Rickard. “An efficiency rating of 91.3% instead of 90% potentially reduces carbon dioxide emissions by around 1.3%, which is equivalent to increasing the roof insulation thickness by around 30%.”
In addition, the Potterton Promax 24 and 30kW HE Plus and the Promax 24 and 30KW SL are all 90.9% efficient according to the SEDBUK database. The Promax SL fits into a standard 300 mm kitchen cupboard. This, say the company, is the widest range of ultra-efficient heat only boilers in the UK, offering a heating solution for a wide range of applications.
The boilers exceed the minimum 90% efficiency required by Part L of the Building Regulations stipulated for Band A categorisation. On SAP calculations for a dwelling, they offer at least a 1% point improvement on the rating against the minimum standard.
