NMBS named a CRASH Fundraising Champion for 2019

National Merchant Buying Society (NMBS) has been named a Fundraising Champion 2019 by the construction industry charity CRASH, in recognition of its fundraising efforts over the last year and as one of CRASH’s most loyal supporting organisations.

Awarded to just a handful of organisations, the charity’s initiative recognises those who have gone above and beyond in their fundraising efforts for the charity, which for over two decades has assisted homelessness and hospice charities with construction related projects.

As the construction industry’s charity, CRASH relies on the generosity of companies from within the industry to create places that care for people.

Francesca Roberts, CRASH Chief Executive, says: “It is entirely thanks to companies within the construction industry that we can make a difference to the lives of homeless men and women and those people receiving end-of-life care in a hospice. A huge congratulations to all those who have been recognised. CRASH is your industry charity – thank you for being a central part of it.’’

All the funds raised are added towards the professional expertise and building materials that Patron Companies channel to help homelessness and hospice charities and their building projects.

Chris Hayward, Managing Director of NMBS, adds: “We are delighted to have been named by CRASH as a Fundraising Champion 2019. The charity carries out vital work to help support people who are homeless, and has always been at the heart of the builders’ merchant industry. I would like to say a personal thank you to all NMBS’ staff, members and suppliers who have helped to support our fundraising efforts over the past year – your generosity has been inspiring and we are looking forward to your support in raising even more funds in the future”

NMBS is the leading UK buying society for independent builders’, timber, hardware, plumbing and heating merchants. It has more than 1,100 members and a buying power in excess of £1.78 billion.
