Parkers to sponsor local carnival

Independent builders' merchant Parker Building Supplies is to be the main sponsor of the Tonbridge Carnival and Fete.

Keith Bunyon, chairman of the carnival committee, told thisiskent.co.uk: "The support and input we had from Parkers last year was invaluable, it really put their heart into the local community. For them to agree to sponsor once again is absolutely brilliant news."

As main sponsor Parker will be invited to lead the procession with its own float for the event on Sunday, June 10, which attracted around 5,000 people last year.

This year, the theme of the fete will be Sport For All. Funds raised will be shared among local charities.
