Humber paints a gloomy picture for new housebuilding
Consultant to the House Builders Association Roger Humber voiced his concerns for the immediate future for new housebuilding to merchants and suppliers at the BMF Members' Day conference in Birmingham.Humber believes that, though the UK economy will recover as we head into 2011, several factors, such as lack of mortgage availability, a reliance on subsidy and excessive regulation, will prevent the housing market from making a full recovery over the next five years.
