HPS commits to major GSOH fundraising
Independent plumbers merchant HPS has committed to raising £40,000 for its chosen charity, Great Ormand Street Hospital.
HPS managers get an insight into the amazing work at GOSH does, and how much good their fundraising efforts are doing
In the last two years, the company has raised over £29,000 which will pay for a new cardiac critical care reception area to be located within the new hospital redevelopment.
The next challenge is to raise £40,000 to pay for two specially-designed intensive care beds, a challenge that sales director Peter Wilson says is already nearly halfway there.
Earlier this month the company held its monthly managers meeting at the Great Ormand Street Hospital Fundraising office, hearing presentations by the fund raising team and an intensive care matron, followed by a tour of some of the specialist care wards.
Wilson told buildersmerchantsjournal.net: "When the directors all visited the hospital after our last fund-raising effort, it was a real eye-opener and really brought home the fantastic work that the hospital does. So we thought it would be a great idea to bring all our managers along as they are the ones at the sharp end of the fund-raising initiatives. Actually seeing the fantastic work that goes on here gives all the managers a real buy-in to what we are trying to achieve."
The company runs a wide range of fund-raising activities from golf days and curry nights to branch-collections.
Managing director Ron Walker said: "When we have a golf day, for example, it's amazing to find out just how many customers have had experience of Great Ormand Street for their own children or their friends and relations'."
