Sussex builders merchant helps out in Haiti
Sussex builders merchant Chandlers Building Supplies is helping out people made homeless after the earthquake in Haiti.Matthew Roberts works for Clarkes Roofing, a customer at Chandlers Building Supplies' Ringmer branch, who is part of a ShelterBox Response Team and travels to disaster areas delivering boxes of aid to those in need.
A disaster relief charity, ShelterBox, specialises in providing aid following disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes and floods.
Richard Skinner, Chandlers Building Supplies' commercial manager, said: "Matthew has done some amazing work with ShelterBox and following his return from Sumatra, where he was helping after an earthquake, Chandlers wanted to do something for the charity.
"Over 13 000 boxes of aid have been distributed throughout Haiti so far and we are delighted to have been able to sponsor a box to help one family to rebuild their life."
