New production line adds capacity to W.Howard

A new production line has been installed at Polyco in Wales.

Located in Newtown, Powys and part of The W Howard Group, Polyco manufactures real wood veneered and foil-wrapped MDF profiles.

This newly installed equipment brings the total number of production lines at Polyco to five, and doubles the overall capacity for smaller cross-sectional work, including products such as foil wrap architraves and picture frames.

Phil Tissington, Group Operations Director for the group, says: “We have made this investment to give us maximum flexibility to Polyco Production line 2react to the ever-changing trends in the profile wrapping market. The additional capacity can also be used to supplement our other product lines as required.

“Thanks to this latest investment, our customers can rest assured they are dealing with a strong and reliable supplier with whom they can partner and grow, confident in the knowledge that our service will always exceed their expectations.”

Polyco will be recruiting new employees from the local area to help run the line in the coming months, providing enhanced job security to the company’s staff as it continues to secure new business.

The line became operational in March 2019 and marks the next stage in a busy period of growth for the MDF profile manufacturer, which recently invested in a new warehouse facility near its Manchester headquarters, and also launched a new core profile range.
