MGM Timber (Scotland) joins the BMF

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has welcomed the largest independent timber merchant in Scotland, MGM Timber (Scotland) into membership.

MGM Timber was established in 1991 and has grown to become Scotland’s local merchant of choice for both trade and retail customers. MGM Timber currently employs over 165 staff and has an annual turnover of over £42m.

The company now trades out of 12 branches across Scotland and has recently completed the purchase of Hamilton-based Robert Reid & Sons Ltd. Last year, MGM Timber announced ambitious expansion plans to open new branches in Aberdeen and Edinburgh and are currently looking for suitable premises.

Graham Bolton, BMF Scotland Regional Manager said: “We are delighted to welcome MGM Timber into the BMF. As a progressive and forward thinking company they are set to be an active and valuable BMF member in Scotland. I look forward to working closely with Brian Smith, Sales Director, and his team.”

Brian Smith added: “MGM Timber sees joining the BMF as a positive move for our company. The benefits the BMF can bring to us such as training and development, market data and networking will help us as we grow our company.”
