Andy Murphy has been appointed as Lafarge Cement UK’s sales & marketing director replacing Charles Law who will be moving to a senior position within the Lafarge Group.
In his new role, Murphy will report directly to Lafarge Cement UK’s managing director, Erdogan Pekenc.
Murphy joined the company as national sales manager in 2000 from Owens Corning. He has held business and marketing managerial roles across the packed and bulk sides of the business, and was moved up to the role of sales director in 2007.
He says: “Sustainability is the driving force behind the Lafarge Cement business today – and I’ll be working with the business development teams to ensure we continue to push forward the case for a more sustainable initiatives and innovations. Our focus is on providing customers with efficient, quality cementitious materials which have a reduced environmental impact. We’ve taken great strides in this area in recent years and I look forward to the opportunity to progress this further in my new role.”
