JTD gets Filpastic helping hand

Racking specialist Filplastic helped growing West Yorkshire merchant JTD Building Supplies to set up its new, bespoke base.

JTD moved from Meltham near Huddersfield to Brockholes near Homfirth in July this year, after extensive design and fit out work carried out by Filplastic.

Filplastic designed and fitted out the trade counter, shop warehouse and yard, supplying display plinths and shelving, and pallet, cantilever and pigeon hole racking as part of the contract.

Tony Sharkey, managing director of JTD, said: “Although the unit we were originally in was a great place to start, it soon began to feel a bit tight for our requirements. Also, we were hampered by the lack of a yard. The site at Brockholes is totally different. It is two acres with a prominent roadside location, an 11,000sqft shed, warehouse and big yard.

“Filplastic are very well known in the industry so they were an obvious choice to quote for the work. From the start they really impressed us with their design ideas and the way they approached the job. They worked with us on every stage to ensure it matched our needs and budgets.

“Everything has been designed from scratch and with Filplastic’s help, I think we got everything right.”

Gary Winter, Filplastic business development manager for the north, managed the job.
