Jackson Building Centres have been helping to teach local school children in Sutton-in-Ashfield some tricks of the merchant trade in the playground.
Staff at Hillocks Primary & Nursery School came up with the initiative to set up a builders’ yard as a role-play area for the children, and enlisted the help of their local Jackson branch to make it a reality.
The children made several trips to the ‘real’ builders merchants while warehouse manager David Cliff enlisted the help of other local businesses and Jackson suppliers to source a wide range of free materials, which the children to put to good use.
Head teacher Sue Regan said: “The teachers, parents and children at Hillocks would like to extend their thanks to Lyndon Johnson, Branch Manager who allowed the visit to take place and to David Cliff who invested so much of his valuable time on the project.”
