Huws Gray buys another in Yorkshire

Independent  builders’ merchants Huws Gray has moved into east Yorkshire for the first time, with the acquisition of K.F. Supplies (Market Weighton), located between Hull and York.

K.F. Supplies are a well-established builders’ merchants with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. Founding director Jean Freeman said: “It was important to us for the business to continue successfully supporting our customers in East Yorkshire, and for our dedicated and hardworking team to become part of a well-respected organisation which can offer them enhanced career prospects.

“Huws Gray is a good cultural fit and was therefore the right choice to purchase the business and continue its growth and success.”

Huws Gray have grown rapidly over the last 12 months, having bought Ridgeons and Audley Builders Merchants towards the end of 2018; the company now operates from over 100 branches with 1800 employees.

Huws Gray managing director, Terry Owen said: “It’s been a busy period for all of us following the acquisition of Ridgeons. We’re delighted to be on the acquisition trail again with the addition of K.F. Supplies to our branch network. It was a pleasure to work with the Freeman family during the acquisition process and we wish them the very best in the future.”

This latest acquisition is part of the company’s ambitious growth plan to strengthen their presence in the UK.
