Local man Neil Crofts won the GB Plastics Anniversary Cup, which was launched in 2015 as part of the company’s 25th birthday celebrations, which will take pride of place at the Oswestry branch at Maes-y-Clawdd for the second consecutive year.

GB Plastics’ Managing Director Alan Sutherland said: “Our annual go-karting event is not only an excellent team building and fun occasion, it is a fantastic opportunity for all the team from across our Midlands network to get together.”

The event was held at Daytona Karting in Tamworth, and Neil completed the lap in the fastest time of the day of 64.453 seconds, earning him 190 points and the number one spot on the winner’s podium.

As well as in Oswestry, GB Plastics has branches in Shrewsbury, Walsall, Banbury, Kettering, and its head office in its home town of Rugeley, Staffordshire.

Sutherland adds: “As we are spread across the region this is the only time many of the team will meet up and chat, apart from Christmas. It’s a really important event that is part of our wider team building, professional and personal development and training activities.”
