Dulux Trade upgrades its Diamond products

Dulux Trade has launched new-to-market formulations of its Dulux Trade Diamond Matt and Diamond Eggshell paints to help trade professionals achieve longer lasting, brilliant results.

The new formulations give a smoother, more even finish that reduces the risk of flashing and picture framing. The two emulsions now feature anti-fade technology, which protects colour pigments to slow down the effects of UV rays and pollutants for truly long-lasting colour.

They have been developed through extensive testing in the world-class AkzoNobel research and development centre in Slough, with expert chemists running more than 1,000 tests on the paints to ensure that they perform as effectively as possible for professional decorators. Both Dulux Trade Diamond Matt and Diamond Eggshell have been rigorously tested to be able to withstand 10,000 scrub cycles which equates to six hours of continuous scrubbing without the finish being compromised to ensure they offer ultimate durability.

Part of the Dulux Trade Diamond range, they are now 50 times more durable than standard trade emulsions, with protection against scrubs, scuffs and stains, to stand the test of daily wear and tear in high footfall areas such as stairwells and hallways; as well as stain repellent technology that mimics the water-resistant properties of leaves to repel wet stains, making the paint easier to clean.

To ensure the upgraded products truly meet the needs of decorators’ day-to-day jobs, AkzoNobel’s in-house professional decorators have put the improved formulations through comprehensive application testing in a purpose-built painting laboratory, before real-world testing with professional decorators at the Dulux Academy and with contractors on sites throughout the UK.

Karen Wilkinson, Dulux Trade Lead at AkzoNobel said; “We continually look at ways to give every professional decorator a brilliant finish that lasts. This upgrade was borne out of listening to homeowner insight and understanding their need for a product that stands the test of time so that wall colour fading isn’t visible when they move furniture around their room, or pictures off their walls. The new formulation can therefore give decorators confidence that their customers will be happy with their work for years to come and they can redecorate when they want to, not when they need to.

“We’ve invested heavily in research and development to create these new formulations that are our most durable paints yet, with new anti-fade colour protection, so professional appliers can be confident they will achieve high quality finishes that they can trust will last.”

Until June 30, Dulux Trade are giving away over 10,000 2.5L cans of Diamond Matt or Eggshell, but if you’re not one of the selected few, the upgraded formulations are available now in stores nationwide.
