Darlington NYT hit million milestone

Opened last year, the Darlington branch of North Yorkshire Timber (NYT) has achieved a turnover of £1m in just over 12 months. And, the branch has increased staff from two to six in the same period.

Darlington NYT hit million milestone

This continued success is due to a growing customer base, stretching beyond Darlington to the rest of County Durham says manager Gordon Bache, he added he was ‘thrilled’ to have hit the £1m mark.

NYT sales director Nick Kershaw said: “Darlington’s success is great news, helping NYT to broaden its customer base and achieve our aim to be a one stop shop for developers, self build enthusiasts and the public.”

Darlington’s success follows on from the success of the NYT Group as a whole, which in November achieved its best ever monthly sales figure of £1.5m. The group are now projecting a turnover in excess of £15m for this year, up more than £2.5m on the previous year.
