Covers tame colleague’s overgrown garden

A group of staff at Covers has come to the rescue of one of its colleagues to help him renovate his overgrown garden.

As part of the builders merchants’ Covers Help for the Community campaign, colleagues from the company’s Gosport branch clubbed together to lend a hand and undertake a garden makeover.

The generous company donated materials whilst a group of volunteers gave up their free time to rescue Jamie Dent’s garden from unrChris Collard and Jamie Dent from Covers Gosportuly weeds, potholed pathways and rubbish piles that had built up after caring for his wife, who suffers from Huntingdon’s disease, and their two children.

Chris Collard, Depot Manager at Covers Gosport, said:

“Following the launch of the Covers Help for the Community campaign, my first thought was helping Jamie to tackle his garden. Jamie works really hard to support his family and is an invaluable member of the team. It was the least we could do as his friends and colleagues to support him and his family to help make life a bit easier. The team has done a fantastic job and we hope his whole family enjoys their new garden.”

Dent, who is Assistant Manager at Covers Gosport, said:

“I am blown away by their generosity and how much they have managed to achieve in so little time. My family and I are incredibly grateful for their thoughts and help. We are looking forward to making the most of our new outdoor space over the summer and beyond.”
