Building Heroes at Kent Blaxill

Kent Blaxill are very proud to sponsor the Foundation course at Colchester Institute on behalf of the Building Heroes* Charity.  The team from Kent Blaxill were delighted to attend a celebration earlier this month to mark the 100th learner, which was held at Colchester Institute.  The Building Heroes Charity is of interest to Kent Blaxill due to its support of military veterans.  The Charity allow ex-personnel to gain key industry skills training for future employment opportunities within the building trades.  As such, it was a natural fit for Kent Blaxill who have over 185 years of history as a builder and decorating merchant within the barrack town of Colchester.

The event was marked with a visit from local MP Will Quince, senior Military personnel and other local businesses and Karl Pannell received a Certificate of Thanks for the on-going support on behalf of Kent Blaxill.  Both the Institute and the Charity are extremely grateful to Kent Blaxill for their support through sponsorship which has allowed them to continue to receive students on to the course, which is heavily booked into 2019.

Karl Pannell said, “The graduation is always a very positive experience and meeting the Veterans, Institute Staff, along with both Charity and Military representatives, and to celebrate the 100th learner was a tremendous achievement to all involved. Kent Blaxill have always been very keen to support this initiative, and impressive to see the results first hand. Karl continued, “We also offer ongoing support via an Advantage card to the cohort, enabling them to purchase materials at very competitive rate up to a certain value to assist them in start-up, and in order to encourage them to continue to use quality products throughout their future career. “  He added, “We hope to be able to provide ongoing support for many years to come.” BuildingeHeroesCohortTen with Karl Pannell from Kent Blaxill and tutor Michael Bloom BuildingeHeroesCohortTen with Will Quince MP and tutor Michael Bloom

Managing Director of Kent Blaxill, Simon Blaxill added, “This is exactly the type of initiative Kent Blaxill is very proud to support and we are delighted to see that students are achieving such superb results.  It is wonderful news that the course remains hugely popular and that we can continue to support veterans in such a positive way.”
